Police thwart plan to kill complainant in Roorkee court, four arrested with guns

The police arrested four men with two firearms and bullets in the Ramnagar court in Roorkee on Thursday where they were planning to kill the complainant in a case.

The Haridwar senior superintendent of police Pramendra Singh Dobal said that based on confidential information, a joint team of the Gangnahar Kotwali and Roorkee CIU reached the court premises where four men were arrested. The men had two country-made handguns and 11 bullets.

The police had earlier received information that a big incident was likely to take place in the court. It was stated that some criminals were planning to carry out a major crime in the court premises on Thursday. T

he joint team of the police headed by Roorkee circle officer Narendra Pant conducted a search operation on the premises. Three suspicious persons were nabbed on the spot while two managed to  escape.

The police gave chase and caught the fourth accused at Madhopur underpass with the weapons. During questioning, it was revealed the accused were planning to kill a complainant in a case of serious crime lodged in the Kankhal police station area.

All the four accused arrested by the police are residents of Meerut in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh. They  have been named as Manikant Sharma, Harshdeep Malik, Rajkumar and Anuj.
