PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun

Pradesh Congress Committee president Karan Mahara has alleged that the State government under chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has failed to prevent leak of the UKSSSC examination paper. Following allegations of the question paper being leaked during the graduate-level Patwari exam held by the commission on Sunday, Mahara alleged that this amounts to a fraud played by the Dhami government with the future of lakhs of youths.

The PCC president said that by issuing the Uttarakhand Competitive Exam ordinance 2023, the State government had claimed to have brought the nation’s strictest anti-copying law. The government had claimed that in the interests of the youths, it will uproot the mafia facilitating malpractices in the competitive examinations.

The government is committed to preventing leaks of question papers and to ensure a transparent recruitment process, the government had claimed. “The Dhami government had major claims to seek credit but these have turned out to be hollow. A former BJP leader has been arrested once again as an accused in the UKSSSC paper leak case.

The Congress has said earlier that the government appears to be shielding prominent leaders and senior officials in the case. It has been proven again today that the paper-leak mafia is active and the claims made by the government have turned out to be hollow,” the PCC president said.

Mahara questioned how the accused Hakam Singh is repteadly playing with the future of the youths, adding that he has been nurtured by BJP leaders. Mahara questioned, “Who is Hakam Singh’s godfather who is enabling this network to thrive consistently, contrary to government claims?”

The PCC president claimed that the Congress party stands in support of the youths of Uttarakhand and will not tolerate such games being played with their future. The Congress will strongly protest on this issue across the State and will raise the issue at every level to protect the rights of the youths, he added.
