Congratulating newly appointed Pradesh Congress Committee State president Ganesh Godiyal, State BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt said that the leadership change in Congress will not affect BJP’s strategy, as the public has already seen similar situations before. However, Bhatt expressed hope that Godiyal will engage in politics focused on public issues rather than engaging in irrelevant matters. During his interaction with media persons on Wednesday, Bhatt said that BJP plans to secure a strong return in the 2027 Vidhan Sabha elections through ongoing development work. He recalled that Godiyal was also the Congress president during the 2022 Assembly elections but the party failed to win as the public supported chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and BJP’s double-engine government. He added that despite efforts by other Congress leaders, the party’s campaign did not succeed. Bhatt said that the BJP government has met public expectations so far. He stated that Congress’s new leadership may adopt a positive approach toward development but added that it remains uncertain when other senior leaders in the party will accept the new president. He emphasised that BJP’s plans and strategy will remain unchanged as the party’s focus is on public service and its organisational direction is determined by the needs of the people.
