The Nursing Ekta Manch (NEM) president Naval Pundir informed that they plan to meet the Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat again within the next two to three days regarding their longstanding demands. Unemployed nursing graduates under the banner of NEM have been demonstrating for several days at the designated protest site in Ekta Vihar with the demonstration continuing on Sunday.
The protesters have been demonstrating seeking a transparent recruitment process. They are advocating for selections based on the year-wise seniority of candidates who have completed their qualifying examinations, among other demands. It will be recalled that earlier, they had met chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who listened to their concerns and assured them that positive action would be taken once their proposal reached the government level. Pundir earlier informed that at that time all doubts were cleared during this meeting and the CM promised action on their demands within eight to 10 days. Despite this, Pundir stated that the protest would continue until a written decision is issued regarding their demands.
Recently, they also met the Health minister who assured them that action on their requests would be forthcoming. Commenting about their further plans, Pundir said that Sunday marked the 24th day of their protest. He informed that despite receiving assurances from the authorities, no written assurance has been received yet on their demands. He said they will continue their protest until direct action is taken on their demands. He also announced that on January 3, they will also conduct a peaceful candle march to the Health minister’s residence to advocate for their unaddressed demands.
