Army commander meets Ganesh Joshi, inspects Sainyadham

The army commander of the Central Command, lieutenant general Anindya Sengupta met Uttarakhand’s Soldier Welfare minister Ganesh Joshi at his official residence in Dehradun on Thursday. During the meeting, they discussed the welfare of ex-servicemen, preservation of military traditions and better coordination between the Army and the State government. The army commander also presented a book titled ‘The Voyage of Surya Command’ to the minister.
After the meeting, the Soldier Welfare minister and the army commander jointly inspected the Sainyadham in Doon. They reviewed the structures and galleries dedicated to the memory of the martyrs and the facilities being developed there. They described Sainyadham as a symbol of patriotism and military pride. The army commander, on his part, appreciated the efforts of the State government for the welfare of soldiers and ex-servicemen and termed the construction and development of Sainyadham as a historic initiative.
Speaking on the occasion, Ganesh Joshi said that Uttarakhand is known as the ‘Land of the Braves’ and the government is fully committed to the welfare of the martyrs’ families. “Sainyadham will inspire future generations and keep alive the stories of sacrifice and bravery,” he noted.
A host of senior Army and State officials were present during the visit.
