Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait, along with members of the Bharatiya Kisan Union and Jaat Mahasabha, is set to reach Dehradun on Friday to demand justice in the Divyanshu Jatrana murder case.

The case relates to an incident on March 23 in Kehri village, where a clash broke out between two groups of students. Tikait shared a video on social media on Thursday, saying that people from Bijnor, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Haridwar and Dehradun will gather and raise their voice at Asharodi. He said he would leave for Dehradun early in the morning and that a committee has already reached the city to decide the location for the protest. He also asked supporters to bring food and necessary items with them. Tikait added that if officials come to Asharodi toll plaza, they are ready to hold talks there.

Responding to this, the superintendent of police (SP City) Pramod Kumar said that if the group comes to Dehradun, the police will ensure that law and order is maintained.

Meanwhile, the senior superintendent of police (SSP) Pramendra Dobal has announced a reward of Rs 25,000 on each of the seven absconding accused of the Divyanshu murder case. Police are continuing their investigation and a manhunt is on for those on the run.
