The Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha State president Ruchi Bhatt said that the attitude of the opposition regarding the Women’s Reservation Bill concerning about half of the nation’s population, was disappointing and irresponsible. It is unfortunate that when the women of the nation had an opportunity for empowerment, the opposition parties accorded priority to their narrow political gains and attempted to block this historic development.
Bhatt said, “The nation’s women have understood who stands in support of their rights and who is indulging only in politics. Under the BJP government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, consistent attempts are being made to empower women but the opposition creates hurdles every time. Opposing the Women’s Reservation Bill or creating unnecessary hurdles is directly against the dreams and rights of the nation’s women. The opposition needs to introspect on this issue and seek an apology from the women of the nation,” she said.
The Mahila Morcha State chief further said that it will continue to fight for women’s rights and honour at every level. It will also uncover the opposition’s conspiracy on the Women’s Reservation Bill for the public to see, she added.
