PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun
The leader of opposition in Vidhan Sabha, Yashpal Arya has said that the cancellation of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2026 due to a paper leak is not only an administrative failure but also an assault on the future of 23 lakh students and their families.
Arya said that the endless series of paper leaks across the country, including Uttarakhand, proves that BJP governments have completely failed to secure the future of the youth. He said that the paper leaks show that the government lacks the administrative capacity, willpower and accountability to conduct a normal examination in a fair and planned manner.
The LoP said that continued paper leaks have put the government’s policies and intentions in the dock.
“Each time, there are sham investigations, grand announcements and empty assurances, but the results are nil. Now, the government needs to step beyond formalities and introspect,” he said.
Arya said that 23 lakh students will be forced to reappear in the examination due to the paper leak and they will have to travel again to hundreds of examination centres located in 552 cities across the country. He said students and their parents will suffer physical and mental pain and financial loss due to the failure of the government.
