The Dalai Lama appreciated Padma Shri recipient orthopaedic surgeon and All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Guwahati president Dr Bhupendra Kumar Singh Sanjay’s service to society through both surgical and non-surgical medical service, social awareness initiatives and public welfare activities.
Sanjay met the Dalai Lama at his residence in Mcleodganj in Himachal Pradesh. He presented his authored books, including works related to road safety, literature and medical experiences, as a token of respect and gratitude while expressing deep admiration for the message of compassion, peace, and universal brotherhood propagated by the Dalai Lama.
Speaking after the meeting, Sanjay stated that receiving blessings from the Dalai Lama was one of the most inspiring and spiritually enriching moments of his life. He reaffirmed his commitment to continue serving society through healthcare, humanitarian service, awareness campaigns on road safety, literature and motivational guidance.
