Heavy rain warning issued for nine districts

The State Meteorological Centre has issued an orange warning for heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Nainital and Bageshwar districts on Sunday. A yellow warning for heavy rain has been issued for isolated places in Dehradun, Tehri, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Champawat and Pithoragarh districts. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, very intense to extremely intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous districts today while thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in the State. Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. One or two spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be intense in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 33 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
