Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth about Rs 17.80 crore in the Mussoorie Assembly constituency. The projects, taken up by the Mussoorie- Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA), include roads, drains and community buildings aimed at improving basic facilities in the area.
The CM inaugurated the Shaheed Deepak Pundir Memorial Community Hall at Purkul, built at a cost of about Rs 3.36 crore. He also laid the foundation stones for four new projects. These include road and retaining wall work at Salawala, road and drain construction at Dobhalwala and Vijay Colony and a new community hall at Salawala.
Addressing the gathering, Dhami said the State government and MDDA are working together to improve roads, drinking water supply, community infrastructure and tourism facilities. He said work is also in progress on the Sainya Dham project, the road leading to the lower terminal of the Mussoorie Ropeway and drinking water schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Dhami said the government is committed to carrying out development works across the State while ensuring transparency and good governance. He added that schemes promoting self employment and local products are also being implemented.
Cabinet minister and Mussoorie MLA Ganesh Joshi said the projects will directly benefit the people and help in the planned development of the constituency. MDDA vice chairman Banshidhar Tiwari said the authority is completing development works according to local needs with a focus on quality and timely execution.
