The Bharatiya Janata Party State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt alleged that the Congress, which was responsible for the partition of India is now conspiring to divide the society. The Congress will face the repercussions of its failed attempts when all the Vidhan Sabha seats reserved for Scheduled Caste in Uttarakhand will be won by the BJP, he said.
Talking to the media in response to an FIR lodged against him in Karnataka, Bhatt said that nobody even in the media has any statement made by him, considering which there is no point in accusing him of what he has not done. “The BJP has been stating repeatedly that it has nothing to do with the ‘purification of the Ramlila ground in Haldwani where Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge addressed the public. A voluntary organisation undertook the actions but the Congress is already flummoxed foreseeing its impending defeat in the coming Assembly elections. It was the Congress which divided the nation and now it is focusing on dividing the society. The fact is that Congress leaders of Uttarakhand gave incorrect information to Kharge. The attempt being made by the Congress to create a divisive atmosphere in Uttarakhand will be replied to befittingly by the public and the BJP workers in a democratic manner,” he said.
Bhatt said that the response to legal proceedings will be provided in a constitutional manner. He said, “I object to ‘BJP workers’ being mentioned in the FIR lodged in Karnataka as there was no party worker present at the event in question. As far as the Congress is concerned, it will suffer major damage due to this conspiracy. The BJP has been consistently winning in the SC seats in Vidhan Sabha elections and we will win in the coming election too,” the BJP State president said.
