The Bharatiya Janata Party State in-charge Ram Madhav said that the party should work not for absolute majority but the highest majority with 60 plus seats in the 2027 Assembly polls. He was addressing office bearers and district in-charges along with BJP State president Mahendra Prasad Bhatt, State co-in-charges Arvind Memon and Bansuri Swaraj along with the State general secretary (Organisation) Phanindranath Sharma here on Friday.

He claimed that unprecedented development has taken place under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. “We now have to move forward with an aim of 60 plus seats. Having strengthened the party as its workers during the past four and a half years, we now have to work on the political strategy to secure the highest majority by raising awareness on the works of the government under PM Modi and CM Dhami. While talking to the public about the government’s development and welfare works, we must also expose the weakness and negative mentality of the opposition. The party must work to make Uttarakhand the eighth State where it gets elected for the third consecutive time,” he said.

Co-in-charge Bansuri Swaraj said that having exploited religion, regionalism, casteism and language, some people are trying to divide youths into age groups. In reality, such leaders are filled with anti-national and anti-Sanatan mentality, who need to be exposed, she said.

Bhatt said that its workers are the BJP’s biggest strength. This is the time for the political test of all that the workers have done for the party so far. Communication should be more effective in the organisation and decisions should be implemented at the booth level with collective effort needed to solve all booth-level problems. The Uttarakhand development model should be discussed from the city to the village level, he said.

Stating that winning at the booth level is vital for winning the polls, Sharma said that the BJP had performed beyond expectations and succeeded in Assam, West Bengal, Bihar and Maharashtra. Aiming to repeat this in Uttarakhand, the party should reverse the simple majority figure of 36 to win 63 seats, he said.
