CM directs intensification of efforts against Covid

Chief minister Tirath Singh Rawat directed officials to step up measures to control Covid-19 in the state. He said this while chairing a meeting after attending the video conference chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to review the status of Covid and vaccination in the country on Thursday evening. Rawat directed the officials to work more seriously on increasing RT-PCR tests and tracing, micro containment zones and surveillance to effectively control the spread of the virus. Clinical care and treatment should be accorded top priority in order to decrease the death rate. He said that the pandemic had been brought under considerable control under the PM’s leadership.
Now with a fresh surge in the cases, work needs to be done with strong determination as before. Public awareness campaigns should be conducted to ensure observance of social distancing and wearing of masks in public. Strict action should be taken against those not following Covid guidelines.Referring to the vaccination campaign, he said that its pace should be picked up further in the state. Chief secretary Om Prakash, director general of police Ashok Kumar, secretaries Amit Singh Negi, Nitesh Jha, Pankaj Pandey and SA Murugeshan were also present in the meeting.
