Complete all pending projects of drinking water on time- Minister

The minister for Drinking Water, Bishan Singh Chufal took a meeting of the department at his Vidhan Sabha office on Friday. In the meeting the minister directed that all the pre monsoon activities and preparations should be completed on time. He said that the department should focus on employment generation during the pandemic and work on all pending projects should be expedited.
On a stern note the minister said that all the works should be visible on ground and the wages of labourers should be paid on time. He said that before onset of monsoon bleaching of all the tanks should be done and all the chambers- filters should be cleaned. Chufal said that the works on different projects of Namami Gange should be expedited and pace of the Gopeshwar- Joshimath project should be increased.
The minister said that upgradation work of the STP and construction of new STPs should be done on time. He directed that the openly flowing water in the villages should be connected with the drains. The meeting was attended by secretary Nitesh Jha, additional secretary Udairaj, chief engineer S C Pant and others.
