While there was some respite from heavy rains in many parts of the state on Saturday, at least four districts in the Kumaon region are forecast to experience heavy rains today. The state meteorological centre has issued an alert regarding the likelihood of heavy rain with intense spells at isolated places in Nainital, Champawat, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Sunday. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning are also likely to occur at isolated places in these districts.
Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in districts of Kumaon region and at a few places in districts of Garhwal region on Sunday. The provisional state capital Dehradun is likely to experience light to moderate rain/thundershowers with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 29 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively on Sunday.
