UCO Bank, Dehradun in association with Balaji Seva Sansthan has collaborated with a non-profit organisation for the expansion of the ‘National Tobacco Control Programme’ and implementation of the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA), 2003 in all public places, offices (private and public) and schools. Arrangements have been made to put up 1000 boards with “no smoking area” warnings specifically on the Chardham yatra route.
The ill effects of tobacco, cigarettes etc., will be made aware to the youth and general public through the warning sign. Spreading awareness among the people by supporting a social cause will help in discharging the social responsibilities and such actions will be emphasised in the future as well, said Pradeep Anand Keshari, deputy general manager and zonal head, UCO Bank.
