The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav has become a public movement and that people are fortunate enough to be a part of it. He said this while participating in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign in the border village of Malari in Chamoli district on Wednesday. The personnel from the Indian army, Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and people from local villages attended the event. Terming the tricolour as the symbol of the nation’s pride, the CM said that India is moving ahead as a strong country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that the coming 25 years would be the golden period (Amrit Kal) of the country. Reiterating the commitment of his government to make Uttarakhand one of the model states of the country, Dhami said that development projects and schemes as per the geographical terrain of the State are being prepared. He said that the countrymen are safe because of the nation’s brave soldiers who are guarding the borders of the country. Dhami elaborated on the achievements of his government and greeted everyone for the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava and festival of Rakshabandhan. He also heard the grievances of the locals and assured the villagers about renovation and facelift of the Indramani temple in Malari, construction of Shivalaya Mandir road and metalling of the Kaga to Garpak motor road.
The women of the border villages tied Rakhi on the wrist of the CM. The locals also handed over an Angavastram and memorabilia to the CM and welcomed him by performing traditional Pauna dance.
The district president of SC Morcha Pushkar Singh Rana, state vice president of ST morcha Prem Singh Rana, Nawal Bhatt, president of Niti Valley Nanda Devi committee Man Singh Rana, Pradhan of Malari, Mangal Singh Rana, sub divisional magistrate Kumkum Joshi, senior officers of the army and others were present on the occasion.
The armed forces personnel and the villagers looked very enthusiastic about the Tiranga campaign. The residents of border villages Malari, Kailashpur, Kosha, Dronagiri, Niti, Bampa, Gamshali, Farkiya, Jhelum, Jumma, Kaga and Garpak participated in the programme.
