Municipal commissioner inspects electric crematorium at Lakkhibagh

The Dehradun municipal commissioner Namami Bansal inspected the electric crematorium at Lakkhibagh on Wednesday. The representatives and officials of the cremation ground informed her during the inspection that the process of cremating human bodies through the electric system was taking more time than expected.
The issue had also been raised during the trial phase, which led to the current non-functioning status of the crematorium. The commissioner directed officials to conduct an inquiry into the matter. She also instructed the preparation of a plan to ensure required facilities at the Lakkhibagh cremation ground.
Bansal said that providing citizens with timely and smooth services is the primary responsibility of the municipal corporation and necessary steps will be taken immediately. She directed the representatives and officials of the cremation ground to inform the corporation if they face any difficulties to ensure locals do not face any inconvenience.
