Three new dengue cases reported in Dehradun

Three new cases of dengue were reported in Dehradun district on Saturday. The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma, informed that out of the three cases, two patients were admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh, while one was admitted to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. This raises the cumulative number of confirmed dengue cases in the district to 229, which includes 117 cases from Dehradun itself and 112 cases from other districts and States.
Currently, there are 19 active dengue patients receiving treatment. Of these, 12 are being treated at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, two at Himalayan Hospital, two at Graphic Era Hospital, one at GDMC Hospital, one at AIIMS Rishikesh and one patient is being treated at home. On Saturday, health officials collected a total of 164 dengue samples, bringing the cumulative number of tested samples to 12,609.
Additionally, on Saturday, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and health department volunteers conducted 10,152 household surveys to check for mosquito larvae. During these surveys, larvae were found in 157 homes. To date, the health department has completed a cumulative number of 12,00,270 house surveys, with 8,222 yielding positive results. ASHA workers and volunteers inspected 72,825 containers on Saturday, discovering that 225 of them contained larvae. Overall, they have examined 79,82,609 containers, with 11,141 testing positive for larvae.
Sharma also informed that two cases of Covid-19 were reported positive in the Dehradun district on Saturday.
