In the first phase of the three-tier Panchayat elections, voting will be held in three development blocks of Uttarkashi district—Naugaon, Purola and Mori—on July 24. The district administration officers said that they have made elaborate arrangements to ensure peaceful, free and fair voting, adding that fool-proof security arrangements have been made, too.
In the first phase, voting is to be held at a total of 272 polling booths under the three development blocks. A total of 81 polling teams have left for their respective polling stations located in remote areas on Tuesday. The remaining polling teams will be dispatched to polling stations on July 23.
