ATVMs installed at 4 rail stations in Nainital benefiting passengers

Passengers can now easily renew their journey tickets, platform tickets and season tickets through automatic ticket vending machines (ATVMs). To provide unreserved travel tickets to passengers, 211 ATVMs have been installed at 107 stations of North Eastern Railway, including 52 at 36 stations under Izzatnagar Division.

The installation of these machines at four railway stations in Nainital district has greatly benefited those travelling on unreserved tickets. In response to passenger demand, two vending machines have been installed at Lalkuan railway station, selling tickets worth over Rs 17,000 daily. At Haldwani railway station, one vending machine sells tickets worth Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000 while two vending machines at Kathgodam railway station sell tickets worth Rs 20,000 to Rs 25,000. At Ramnagar railway station, two vending machines sell tickets worth Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000. These vending machines have been provided on a priority basis to retired railway employees and are operated through contract.
