Century Pulp & Paper & GBPUAT to plant trees on 200 acres

In a significant initiative towards environmental protection, availability of raw materials and promotion of employment generation, a long-term agreement was recently signed between Century Pulp & Paper and Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar for plantation on 200 acres of land. The chief executive officer of Century Mills, Ajay Kumar Gupta and the deputy finance controller, GBPUAT, Satya Prakash Kuril signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations,
While speaking on this occasion, Gupta stated that this joint effort between Century Mills and GBPUAT would enhance availability of raw materials, increase green cover and create new employment opportunities locally. The vice-president of the company, Naresh Chandra stated that Century Mills has planned to plant a total of 22.2 million trees in 2025-26. A new mist chamber has also been installed to promote eucalyptus clone production. He added that an ambitious target of 25 million trees has been set for 2026-27, which the mill is committed to achieving.
