CM to inaugurate Kishan Mela at GBPUAT on March 13

Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar will organise the 119th All- India Farmers Fair and Agricultural Industry Exhibition from March 13 to 16. Announcing this on Wednesday, the vice-chancellor of the university,
Manmohan Singh Chauhan said that the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami would inaugurate it at 11 AM on March 13 while the  former CM and former Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari would preside over the concluding programme on March 16.
The VC further stated that the fair would showcase new agricultural techniques, modern agricultural equipment and improved seeds for farmers. Seeds of new varieties of Kharif crops, minikits, vegetables, fruits, agroforestry, aromatic and medicinal plants and seedlings would be made available to the farmers, he said and added that the university publications would also be sold at discounted rates during the fair.

For the first time, free space has been provided for women to set up stalls on the mela grounds, he said. “A number of exhibitions, farmer-scientist dialogues and competitions will be held too,” he added.
