The Nainital district Congress activists working from Lalkuan submitted a memorandum to the sub-divisional magistrate, Lalkuan on Tuesday, demanding registration of an FIR against those who had recently assaulted the director of Primary Education and vandalised the Education Directorate in Dehradun. After submitting the memorandum, the Congress workers said that a public representative taking law into his own hands was an unfortunate and dangerous precedent. “So the administration must immediately file an FIR against the MLA and his supporters under appropriate sections of laws and take strict legal action to prevent such incident’s recurrence in future,” said the Nainital district Congress committee president, Rahul Chhimwal and Lalkuan Congress committee president, Bhuvan Pandey.
