The Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge and leader of opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi have decided to encourage party leaders active on the ground. The party is now working on its organisation in Uttarakhand after doing so in Gujarat and Haryana. Stating this, former Haryana minister Ajay Singh Yadav said that from the block to the national level, the party will appoint dedicated workers as head irrespective of any special group.
Speaking at the party office here on Friday, he said that the party’s Sangathan Srijan programme will result in ground level workers of the party being appointed to posts of unit heads from the block to the national level. A proper procedure will be followed for the appointment of these office bearers. Yadav said that he will stay in Haldwani for a week for this purpose.
He also criticised the Central government for its foreign policy, economic policy and alleged biased treatment of the States. Haldwani MLA Sumit Hridayesh and other party leaders were also present on the occasion.
