The Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal formed a joint team led by additional district magistrate (Finance and Revenue) KK Mishra to conduct a detailed inquiry into the Dhaulas land deal. The case is related to the alleged irregular sale of agricultural land by Sheikh-ul-Hind Education Charitable Trust in the Dhaulas area.

The team visited the spot on Wednesday and carried out a detailed measurement of the land. According to officials, the land was earlier given to the trust for educational purposes. Now the administration is checking whether the trust followed the conditions set at the time of allotment. A joint team of the Tehsil administration, Forest department and police is conducting the investigation.

In the initial inquiry, it was found that a total of 20 acres of agricultural land were first sold to 15 people in large plots. Later, these buyers reportedly divided the land into smaller plots and sold them to 70 to 80 other people. Officials said that permission for sale was given on the condition that the land would remain agricultural and would not be converted into non-agricultural land.

The ADM said that after the detailed measurement report is ready, strict legal action will be taken as per the law if any violation is found. Earlier, the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) had also taken action against illegal plotting in the area. The MDDA had demolished illegal boundary walls, internal roads and other structures built without approval.
