The chief minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Haldwani city bus service from the Circuit House premises on Tuesday, flagging off electric buses on three routes. “It will further boost Haldwani’s development.
This service will provide affordable, accessible and safe transportation to citizens aside from easing traffic congestion, reducing pollution and promoting energy conservation,” he said, adding that his government has been striving to
develop modern, environment friendly and safe transport system in every city of the State.
The divisional transport officer, Gurdev Singh said that keeping in view the needs of the passengers, three out of six contemplated routes had been selected for the initial phase of operation, adding that it would provide more convenience to the local citizens, students and working class people.
