Dwivedi flouted rules by using helicopter for Kedarnath visit: Dasauni

PIONEER NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun

Taking exception to the Kedarnath visit of Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) chairman Hemant Dwivedi by helicopter, the chief spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress Garima Dasauni has said that the Dwivedi has not only flouted the rules but has also promoted VIP culture.

Dasauni said that after a series of helicopter accidents, the Directorate General Civil Aviation (DGCA) had directed the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) to impose a complete ban on heli services during the rainy season. The objective of the directive was to ensure safety of the pilgrims and prevent any accident during monsoon period.

Dasauni said that the use of the helicopter by Dwivedi for a visit to Kedarnath is a clear example of different laws for different people and misuse of power.

She demanded that the government should take immediate action against Dwivedi. She said that both DGCA and UCADA should clarify as to who gave the permission for the flight.

Dasauni said that equality, transparency and responsibility should be fixed in the conduct of Char Dham Yatra so that there is no discrimination with the pilgrims.
