The voters whose names were deleted from the voter list as they were found in the absent, shifted, dead and duplicate (ASDD) category during the just concluded process of Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in the State can still get their names added in the electoral roll. On the directive of the Election Commission of India, a special month long drive is commencing in the State to include names in the voter list.
Interacting with the media-persons at the State secretariat the chief electoral officer BVRC Purushottam said that special camps will held at all 12,543 polling stations of the State from October 8 to 10 in which the booth-level officers will verify voters included in the ASDD list under the Pre-SIR and SIR campaigns and prepare a list of eligible voters. He further informed that from October 12 to October 20, BLOs will go door-to-door to distribute Form VI (for vote addition) to those whose lists have been compiled.
The CEO stated that all districts have been instructed to involve booth-level agents of political parties and members of booth awareness groups in this campaign. He explained that in this campaign, BLOs will match the current voter list with the pre-SIR list. They will identify voters whose names were included in the pre-SIR list but are not in the current list. BLOs will visit the homes of identified voters to determine their current status and will assist those found eligible in completing Form VI to be included in the voter list.
During their door-to-door visits, BLOs will also ensure that Form VI is completed for those who will become eligible to vote by attaining the age of 18 on October 1, 2026. BLOs will share this list with booth-level agents of recognized political parties. In the final stage of this process, the electoral registration officers (ERO) will also share the booth-wise list with political party representatives, giving them another opportunity to enroll any missing voters.
The ECI had published the final electoral roll the State after the end of SIR on Saturday. The final roll has 71,58,949 (Male: 37,37,701, Female 34,21,036, Third Gender 712) electors. The State had 79,60,762 voters on June 8, 2026, when the SIR of the electoral roll began in the State.
