Ensure benefits of UCRRFP reach to villages: CS to officers

The chief secretary Anand Bardhan has said that the benefits of the Uttarakhand Climate Resilient Rain Fed Agriculture Project (UCRRFP) should be taken to the village level. He was chairing the meeting of the fourth High Power Committee (HPC) of the UCRRFP at the State secretariat on Friday.
In the meeting the HPC reviewed the project’s updated physical and financial progress and approved an annual action plan of Rs 187.11 crore for the fiscal year 2026–27.
The project operations guide, financial management system and guidelines prepared for the effective operation of the project were also approved in the meeting.
The CS directed that plans should be developed at the village level and tailored to local needs while keeping the project’s objectives in mind. This will ensure that the villagers reap maximum benefits from the project, he said. The CS said that given the challenges of climate change, the project is essential to make rain fed agriculture more efficient and sustainable.
Secretary of chief project director Dilip Jawalkar, secretary C Ravishankar, project director Himanshu Khurana and others attended the meeting.
