MCD conducts drive against encroachment, littering across Doon

Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) on Friday carried out an enforcement drive against encroachment and littering in several parts of the city, conducted under the additional municipal commissioner, Praveen Kumar.
According to the municipal officials, the drive was conducted in several areas, including Canal Road, Kath Bangla, New Friends Colony and Ajabpur. Among the officers present during the campaign were the assistant municipal commissioner, Rajbir Singh Chauhan and tax superintendent, Dharmesh Painyuli along with CSI/SI officers and the Quick Response Team (QRT).
The Health Section issued 87 challans for sanitation norm violations and imposed a total fine of Rs 41,900. Under the Land Section, the officials issued 47 challans for encroachments on main roads and collected Rs 23,100 in total as a penalty. In addition, teams removed 16 illegal banners and posters from the areas during the enforcement drive.
