The president of the Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad and the Maa Mansa Devi Temple Trust, Mahant Ravindra Puri criticised Mahamandaleshwar Swami Rupendra Prakash of the Bada Akhara for issuing statements on the upcoming Kumbh Mela targeting him and his organisation. He alleged that Prakash is currently involved in politics. “He has no right to defame Akhara Parishad. I feel he is being forced to make such statements,” he said.
He further said that as Prakash was holding a revered position, it was unbecoming of him to make such statements. “No one here is innocent,” he quipped sarcastically. He said that the decision to convert the Ardh Kumbh into a Kumbh rests with the government.
