Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated Priyanka Negi, the newly elected Gram Pradhan of Sarkot in Gairsain, Chamoli district on Friday. The CM has adopted Sarkot for developing it as a model village.
He called Negi on phone and said that all the villagers of Sarkot deserve praise for electing an educated young girl as their Pradhan. Dhami said that the government is developing Sarkot as a model village and similar model villages in other districts will also be developed.
He said that soon all the chief development officers (CDO) will visit Sarkot to study its model.
CM told Priyanka that now Sarkot needs to be developed more. He said that works such as agriculture, animal husbandry and women’s self-employment will be done at a faster pace in Sarkot.
Inviting Priyanka Negi to Dehradun, the CM assured that in depth deliberation will be done for development of the village.
Expressing gratitude to the CM for adopting Sarkot, Priyanka Negi said that all types of public facilities are now available in Sarkot. She said that after being adopted by the CM, many development works have occurred in Sarkot.
CM said that the government aims to develop such model villages where employment opportunities and all basic facilities are available. The CM added that this time many youngsters and educated candidates have been elected in Panchayat elections which is a good sign. Dhami assured that the government will provide full cooperation to the Panchayats.
