Health services to be enhanced at district & Gandhi Shatabdi Eye hospitals

To mark the occasion of State Foundation Day, the authorities concerned have decided to upgrade and enhance health services at the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya District Hospital and Gandhi Shatabdi Eye Hospital. Informing about this, the principal medical superintendent Dr Manu Jain informed that in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the State’s foundation, health services at both the District Hospital and the Gandhi Shatabdi Eye Hospital will be improved. On State Foundation Day, the Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) at Gandhi Shatabdi Eye Hospital will be expanded from six to twelve beds. This unit was recently established to provide care for newborns. Thanks to the efforts of the district magistrate, this expansion has been approved and will be inaugurated on State Foundation Day. The district magistrate will be approached for the inauguration, he added.
Jain said that additionally, the hospital administration has prepared the necessary arrangements, including an increase in the number of doctors. The number of doctors in the SNCU has risen from four to seven, with three newly MBBS doctors added. Of the three new doctors, two are from the National Health Mission and one has been deployed from the district hospital. He said that on the same day, the foundation stone for a 10-bed dormitory for patients’ attendants at Gandhi Shatabdi Eye Hospital and a 10-bed dormitory at the District Hospital will be laid. This initiative will be beneficial for the attendees. Jain also said that to enhance services for individuals with disabilities, the foundation stone for a State Referral Centre will be established at Gandhi Shatabdi Eye Hospital on the same day. This referral centre aims to improve services for disabled individuals across the State, allowing them better access to treatment, he said.
