Swami Ramdev said that herbs are vital for both treatment and self-realisation. He said this on the occasion of the birthday of Patanjali Yogpeeth’s general secretary Acharya Balkrishna which was celebrated at Jadi Booti Diwas on Monday. Among the various activities held on the occasion, Ramdev and Balkrishna participated in blood donation and tree plantation on the occasion.
Ramdev said that celebrating the occasion was just a means to work towards plantation of herbs in every household in the nation so that humanity gains in health and happiness from them. Stating that herbs are a means to experience the grace of god, Ramdev said that they are not useful only for treatment but also for self-realisation. He also appreciated Balkrishna for carrying forward the knowledge and heritage gained from ancient sages, dedicating his life to this effort.
Addressing the gathering, Balkrishna said that it is vital to save herbs in order to protect human life. He said that Patanjali’s Jadi Booti Diwas is aimed at protection of all human life. He said that humans cannot exist without herbs and flora. Eleven books were also released by him on the occasion. Workers of the Patanjali Yog Samiti distributed free herbs at the district, Tehsil, block and village level to mark the occasion.
