Some parts of the State are expected to witness inclement weather today. The State Meteorological Centre has issued an orange alert (be prepared to take action) regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Bageshwar, Dehradun and Pithoragarh district on Sunday.
The centre has also issued a yellow alert (be aware) regarding the possibility of heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Tehri, Pauri, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Nainital, Udham Singh Nagar and Champawat districts. Further, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of the State. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in all districts of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a generally cloudy sky. One or two spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be intense/heavy in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 31 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Meanwhile, light to heavy rain was reported in various parts of the State on Sunday with 66 millimetres in Garud, 29.5 millimetres in Budha Kedar, 23 millimetres in Kalsi, 22 millimetres in Bhimtal, 21.5 millimetres in Kashipur, 11 millimetres in Rudraprayag and six millimetres in Devprayag.
