Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan has directed the senior officers of the State administration to register best practices and success stories of their department. He gave the order while chairing a secretary level meeting at the State secretariat on Tuesday. The CS said that the best practices should be such unique initiatives which have not been done by any State and which are different from others. He directed that the presentation of the best practices both institutional and individual should be prepared.
Bardhan said that the best practices will help in giving engagement to the people for better performance.
He said that IT, Agriculture, Horticulture, Child Development, Panchayati Raj, Rural Development, Cooperative, Animal Husbandry, Forest, Education, Technical Education, Higher Education and Ayush have better chances of best practices.
He directed the secretaries to implement the development works, government schemes and programmes properly so that people can take their maximum benefit.
The CS asked the department to make most of their work in online medium so that a transparent, simple and proper system can be developed.
On a stern note the CS directed the secretaries to ensure proper implementation of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizen Act- 2007 so that the senior citizens who are treasure troves of experience and knowledge can lead their life in a dignified manner. He also directed all DMs to ensure proper implementation of the act.
