Dehradun district reported four new cases of Covid-19 and three new cases of dengue on Tuesday. The Dehradun Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma stated that among the four Covid-19 cases which were reported on Tuesday, three are local residents and one involves a migrant. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the district to 91, comprising 76 local residents and 15 migrants. Currently, there are three active Covid-19 cases: two individuals are receiving treatment at home, while one is admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh. On Tuesday, a total of 19 samples were tested for Covid-19, he informed.
In addition to the Covid-19 cases, Sharma said that three new positive cases of dengue were also reported on Tuesday, out of which two have been admitted to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital and one received treatment at the OPD of the same hospital. This increases the cumulative total of confirmed dengue cases in the district to 164, with 86 originating from Dehradun and 78 from other districts or States.
Currently, there are 15 active dengue patients receiving treatment: eight at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, one at Himalayan Hospital, one at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital, three at Graphic Era Hospital and two are receiving care at home.
On Tuesday, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and health department volunteers conducted 11,483 household surveys to check for mosquito larvae. Of these surveys, 185 homes were found to have larvae. Further, on Tuesday, ASHA workers and volunteers examined 80,209 containers over the weekend and discovered that 268 of them contained larvae.
