Under Uttarakhand Police’s Operation Crackdown, Banbhulpura police arrested a man on Tuesday after with two illegal pistols and 17 cartridges had been found in his house.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a raid in Gaujajali Uttar area as part of an operation directed by the senior superintendent of police, Nainital, Manjunath TC. During the search, two .315-bore and 12-bore pistols along with 17 cartridges of various bores were recovered from the home of one Mobin Khan (60).
A case has been registered against Khan under sections of the Arms Act at Mukhani police station. According to police, the accused has a prior criminal history. Further investigation is underway, police added.
