Modi and Shah take stock of disaster situation in Uttarakhand

Prime Minister Narendra Modi called chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami over phone on Tuesday to enquire about the heavy rain triggered natural disaster in different parts of Uttarakhand. 

The Union Home minister Amit Shah also contacted Dhami to enquire about the disaster situation in the State. The PM and Home minister assured the CM that the Union government is standing firmly with the State government in this hour of crisis. 

Expressing gratitude to the PM and Home minister, the CM said that under their guidance the relief and rescue  operation will be taken up at a fast pace. He added that the administrative machinery is active in the disaster affected areas and the relief and rescue operations are being undertaken on a war scale.

The CM told the PM and Home minister that he himself is on ground zero along with the senior officers of State administration and local MLA. He added that the administration is on an alert mode and the teams of NDRF, SDRF and local police are taking part in relief and rescue operations.
