The president of the minority cell of Uttarakhand Congress, Suleiman Ansari has said that the party has committed itself to ensure that the name of every eligible citizen is included in the voter list.
He was addressing a training programme on SIR at the headquarters of the State Congress on Monday.
The objective of the programme was to familiarize Congress workers with the voter list revision process and provide necessary assistance to every eligible voter.
In his address, Ansari said that the Election Commission’s SIR process could affect millions of voters in the State. He said that the minority cell of the party will reach out to every needy voter through its workers across the State and provide them with necessary assistance.
Former Kedarnath MLA Manoj Rawat said that if voters remain vigilant and Congress workers remain active, names of no eligible voter can be removed from the voter list. He also highlighted the SIR process and the forms which are needed to be filled for deleting and adding names from the voter list.
Rawat also provided information on regularly verifying the voter list and filing the necessary applications according to the prescribed procedures.
