Rudraprayag to be developed as model district, Kedarkhand mission on lines of Manaskhand mission: CM

The Swadeshi mantra strengthened the nation’s freedom and will now boost its prosperity, the governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh said while speaking at the State Foundation Day Silver Jubilee Raitik Parade on Friday at police lines in Dehradun. Speaking on the occasion, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Rudraprayag will be developed as a model district and that a Kedarkhand Mandir Mala mission will be undertaken on the lines of the Manaskhand Mandir Mala mission.
Addressing the gathering, the governor appealed to the public to purchase only those products which are made in India, adding that this is the biggest mantra for achieving a self-reliant nation and State. He exhorted the youths to focus on technology, innovation and startups while contributing to national development. “This is the path which will fulfill the resolve of Viksit Uttarakhand and Viksit Bharat 2047,” he said.
Singh also appreciated the parade while stating that Uttarakhand Police has established its identity as a strong and modern police force due to its efficiency, discipline and farsightedness. Stressing on community policing, he commended the police for strengthening the bridge of trust, cooperation and participation with the public.
Stating that a Kedarkhand mission will be undertaken on the lines of the Manaskhand Mandir Mala mission, Dhami also announced plans to develop Rudraprayag as a model district and to survey and settle all agricultural land in phases over the next five years. The State will set up a State Cyber Crime Coordination Centre to address cyber offences and expand the Anti-Narcotics Task Force to curb drug trade. He announced the introduction of a farm fencing policy to protect crops from wild and stray animals, along with a welfare fund for Bhojan Mata appointed under the PM Poshan scheme in government schools. The State will launch a special programme for conservation and revival of traditional water sources such as dharas and naulas. Online skill courses and online coaching for civil services, banking, management and NET exams will be offered to students of higher education institutions. The Sharda Corridor and Adi Kailash in Kumaon and Anjanisain and Belakedar in Garhwal will be developed as spiritual economic zones. He also announced that each district hospital will open a special clinic for Type-1 diabetes and diabetes screening will be free for children up to 15 years.
Besides this, 12 police officers and personnel were also conferred with the President’s medalfor their meritorious service on the occasion. These officers had received a mention for the President’s Medal on the occasion of Republic Day and Independence Day and they finally received them with the formal conferral on Friday. Recipients include inspector generals of police Vimmy Sachdeva Raman, Neeru Garg and Ruchi Agarwal. Besides this, the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh, IRB Commandant Shweta Choubey, superintendent of police Sarita Dobhal and deputy inspector general of police Jagatram were also felicitated. The retired personnel were also awarded including platoon commander Harak Singh and additional sub inspectors Surjeet Singh and Rishivallabh Kotiyal. A head constable Lakshman Singh and a fire service driver Ganesh Singh were also awarded for their service.
