Movie ‘Godaan’ made tax free in Uttarakhand

The Uttarakhand government has made the film ‘ Godaan’ tax free in Uttarakhand. The movie is based on agrarian traditions, rural life and the significance of cattle. The decision was taken by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
The film was released in cinemas nationwide on February 6 and conveys a message of connecting society with Indian culture and traditions.
The CM said that the cow is not merely a matter of religion and faith but is an integral part of Indian culture, society and the rural economy. He emphasised that such films should be encouraged because they foster positive thinking and sensitivity within society.
He said that the State government is working for the protection of cattle and cow shelters are being promoted in the State to ensure better care for destitute and abandoned cattle. Additionally, cattle rearers and livestock farmers are being benefited through various government schemes to increase their income and strengthen the rural economy.
