To mark the National Sports Day, several sports competitions were organised in various schools across Nainital. A football match of the girl students was held in the Bhartiya Shaheed Sainik Vidyalaya inaugurated by the principal,
Bishan Singh Mehta. Besides this, basketball, volleyball and hockey competitions were also held in the institution to mark the occasion.
Besides, a friendly basketball match was played on National Sports Day between All Saints’ Blue and All Saints’ White teams at All Saints’ College. The Blue team won it by 32-12. The principal of the college, Anjina Richards urged the students to make sports an integral part of their lives.
