No respite from heavy rain- warnings issued for all districts

The rainy spell is slated to continue in the State on Sunday with the State Meteorological Centre issuing an orange warning (be prepared to take action) regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts today.

The centre has also issued a yellow warning (be aware) regarding the possibility of heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, and Nainital districts. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of the State today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in all districts of the State on Sunday.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. One or two spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be intense/heavy in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Sunday.

Light to moderate rain was reported in various parts of the State on Saturday with 45 millimetres in Asharodi area of Dehradun, 39 millimetres in Kanalichina, 20 millimetres in Lohaghat, 19.5 millimetres in Jakholi, 15 millimetres in Yamkeshwar, 14.1 millimetres in Dehradun and 13.5 millimetres in Mukteshwar.
