Pushkar Singh Dhami Inaugurates Rs 46 Crore Urban Infrastructure Push in Dehradun

Pledges Transparent Governance and Public Safety

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami launched various development works costing Rs 46 crore in Dehradun while attending the function held to mark the 27th Foundation Day of the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) on Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering at MCD, he said that the corporation has had various achievements in expansion of public facilities and modern urban development during the past 27 years. It has played an important role in the development of Dehradun as a clean, safe and orderly city, he said.
Dhami said that the state is working to strengthen urban infrastructure to meet growing public needs and support future population expansion. He emphasised that the administration has prioritised transparency and performance-based systems. The CM said that the MCD’s foundation day is an occasion for celebrating the achievements while also working to meet future developmental expectations considering the challenges to come.
Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, the State government is fully committed to make Dehradun a modern developed city, he said while referring to various schemes in operation for sanitation, development, housing and other public welfare efforts. The government is working on various projects costing more than Rs 1,400 crore to make Dehradun a modern city. He said that the State government is also working on permanent solutions to the issues of traffic and parking in the city.
Speaking on the occasion, Dehradun mayor Saurabh Thapliyal said that efforts are being undertaken to make Dehradun a modern and environment-friendly city. He also provided detailed information about the development works being undertaken by MCD.
Municipal commissioner Namami Bansal said the corporation is shifting toward technology-driven governance through improved waste management systems, e-office adoption and strengthened tax collection processes.
The CM inaugurated projects including park development on IT Park Road, mechanised smart car parking, Rajpur Road parking and mechanised transfer station at Dhauran. He also laid the foundation stones for seven developmental works in various parts of the city. Cabinet minister Subodh Uniyal, MLAs Khajan Das, Vinod Chamoli, Umesh Sharma ‘Kau’, councillors and officials were also present on the occasion.
