National Doctors’ Day celebrated at GDMC

To mark the National Doctors’ Day, the Doctor of the Year Award – 2025 ceremony was organised at Government Doon Medical College in Dehradun on Tuesday. While the State Health minister, Dhan Singh Rawat was the chief guest the Padma Shri recipient Orthopedic surgeon, Dr B K S Sanjay was the special guest.

In his address, Rawat said that all vacant posts in the government medical colleges would be filled by the end of 2025. Dr Sanjay, on the other hand, flagged concern over the spiralling spike in accident-spawned disability. “Every year, around 1,500 accidents occur here, resulting in about 1,000 deaths,” he said. He also requested the minister to incorporate road safety norms into the school curriculum. The minister assured that it would soon be included in the school curriculum.
