The spirit of active and people-friendly streets is set to return to the national capital as the Raahgiri Foundation, in partnership with the Fit India Movement, brings back Raahgiri Day under the nationwide #SundaysOnCycle initiative.

The event will be organised on March 15 from 7:00 AM onwards at Block-A, Connaught Place, Delhi inviting citizens to experience their streets through cycling, walking, fitness activities and engaging community performances.

The initiative is being organised in collaboration with key government and institutional partners including the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), Delhi Traffic Police, Delhi Police, and corporate partner Nagarro. Through this collaborative effort, the organisers aim to promote healthier lifestyles while raising awareness about road safety, clean air and responsible digital behaviour.

Speaking about the occasion, Sarika Panda Bhatt, Co-Founder and Trustee of the Raahgiri Foundation and Director at Nagarro, said that Raahgiri Day serves as a reminder of the importance of vibrant public spaces in urban life.

“Raahgiri Day reminds us that vibrant streets and shared public spaces are the lifeline of a city. When citizens cycle, walk and engage together, they experience firsthand how cleaner air, safer roads and active mobility can transform the way our cities feel and function,” she said.

The morning programme will feature cycling and walking activities, Zumba sessions and a special street performance focusing on road safety, designed to engage citizens in meaningful dialogue on building safer and more sustainable cities.

Over the years, the movement has evolved into a powerful platform that transforms city streets into vibrant public spaces, encouraging citizens to move more, pedal more, breathe cleaner air and collectively reimagine cities that prioritise people over traffic.
