The swearing in ceremony of the newly elected presidents, vice presidents and the member district Panchayat in all the districts of the State barring Haridwar will be held on September 1. The first meeting of the district Panchayats will be held on September 2.
The secretary Panchayat Raj Chandresh Kumar issued an order to all the district magistrates for the swearing in and first meetings of the three tier Panchayat bodies in the State on Friday. As per the order, the swearing in of members and Pradhans of village Panchayats will be August 27 and the first meeting of the Gram Sabhas will be on August 28.
Similarly the member block Panchayats, block pramukh and both their deputies will take oath on August 29 and the first meeting of the block Panchayats will be on August 30.
